GEANSAI GORM
GEANSAI GORM SEO Contest is causing quite a stirr here in Ireland so I've decided to give it a shot.I always believed that having a clean validating code and good SEO technique ( not that I have any ) helps more in the long run than any CMS plugin so I'll try to stick with my beliefs.
I might be wrong but this is suppose to be for fun so...good luck to all competitors !
"An SEO contest is an activity awarding prizes that challenges search engine optimization(SEO) practitioners to rank themselves among the major search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN using certain keyword(s). This type of contest is controversial because it often leads to massive amounts of link spamming as participants try to boost the rankings of their pages by any means available. The organizing body of an SEO competition may hold the activity without promotion of a product or service in mind; or they may organize a contest in order to market something on the Internet. Participants can showcase their skills and potentially discover and share new techniques for promoting websites."

GEANSAI GORM SEARCH RESULTS GONE MAD
Mad and funny day today on the GEANSAI GORM contest but I can honestly say...I like it ! My question is : Who's gonna be the winner, the one who first rank in Google for the GEANSAI GORM term or the first ranking NEW DOMAIN NAME ( 3rd -4th spot ? ) ? If is going to be the first one then I can say...it will be no winner for the breach of T & C of the contest ( I'm sure is not going to be a new domain on the first spot, it will probably be an old blog or forum where people register and sign as GEANSAI GORM linking to the GEANSAI GORM sites they've made) .We'll live and see...
For the moment mybluejumper.com went second after Tom Doyle's blog and greybandit.com came up close ranking second ( 3rd if you consider Tom's blog ).A new comer made on Google apps ( sites.google.com/site/geansaigormproject ) came out of nowhere straight to third place ( 4th actually ).
What I'm surprised to see is that bluejumper.net ( the only site that actually follow all the real SEO rules - validates on w3.org and do not use any CMS plugins to get high rankings etc ) is out of sight. Hmmm....that makes me think...should I go cutting corners ?
Not just yet...
And to bring again my Granma's words : " You never get lost on a straight road so do not cut corners unless you're in a rush or when the Gardai's chasing you..."
Well Grandma, I still have a month so...no rush here !
